Birthday Party

This past weekend was Ladybug's birthday party. The theme was 1920's/Classic Hollywood. I found a cute movie scene clapboard at Oriental Trading Co. and filled in the details with a silver Sharpie marker.

The clapboard was set up in the "costume department". We had feather boas, tiaras and necklaces for the girls, gangster hats and stick on mustaches for the boys.

The candy buffet table served as our "concession stand" and had the pennant banner I made hung above it. All of the candies were introduced in the 1920's and we did popcorn cupcakes in red and white wraps. The centerpiece was a stack of "film reels" I made out of empty ribbon spools and paper.

(The empty spot on the table is where the popcorn bowl went. When the pictures were taken I was still in the kitchen popping and filling.)

Miss Ladybug in the awesome flapper dress her godmother made.
She was quite the Baby Vamp.

And Miss Doodlebug, also in a beautiful little dress made by their godmother.

Overall everyone had a great time. Now I have to get it in gear for Doodlebug's vintage birthday carnival in July!
